Love Your Menses
Every year, we host a signature Love Your Menses event in select cities to bring together girls, young women, menstruators, and non-menstruators of all ages and social identities. We provide a safe, uplifting, and brave space for young people to learn about the menstrual cycle from women of color medical and public health professionals, share period stories, and get connected to resources in their local community that support their health and wellness needs.
Our vision is to destigmatize menstruation in communities of color through evidence based health education. Menstruation education workshops are facilitated by local health professionals.
We provide participants a safe and brave space to share their personal menstrual stories and build a support network with each other.
An integral part of each Love Your Menses event is the exhibition of local community-based organizations. Organizations focused on uplifting and supporting young people and adults have an opportunity to promote their business and network with attendees.
During each of our events, participants are asked to complete a pre- and post- event survey for general data collection purposes so we can improve future events. Please see below for a data report from our Boston Love Your Menses 2019 event.
"This is soooooo needed for our girls. I did not realize how much stuff I did not know as old as I am."
"This was an amazing event and I just want to share it with so many others, this was very informative for an adult like me but it also catered to younger people, better than the reproductive health education I ever got!"
